Every year I look forward to family Halloween costumes. And I've got the kids on board! They help pick out the theme, and then we each pick a character. My husband wanted to share "The Labyrinth" movie with the kids, and they became obsessed.
Jareth (David Bowie)
Costume Pieces:
- Blonde Rocker Wig
- Pendant Necklace (we used a family heirloom necklace we already had)
- Crystal Orb (we used a light-up ball from the kids)
- White Puffy Sleeve Shirt
- Black Vest
- Grey Leggings (I made Brandon wear mine!)
- Black Boots
- Denim Eye Shadow
- OR... get the full costume
Sarah (Jennifer Connelly)
Costume Pieces:
- Brown Hair Barette
- Puffy-Sleeve White Shirt (I found mine at a thrift store as a peasant costume set, that had the vest and shirt attached together and just altered them)
- Paisley Vest
- "The Labyrinth" Book (it's the actual storytelling of the movie, my daughter has read it over and over since we gifted it to her)
- Straight Jeans (I wore jeggings, because that's what I had)
- Flat Ballet Shoes
- OR... if you'd rather have her ballgown
Sir Didymus and Ambrosius
Costume Pieces:
- Inflatable Riding Costume (we bought a unicorn and taped down the horn and mane)
- White Plastic Tablecloths (I cut these into fringe, and taped them to the inflatable riding costume)
- Newsie Cap
- Stuffed Animal Fox (for the tail)
- Striped Long-Sleeve Shirt (I used striped pillowcases and sewed a jacket)
Ludo
Costume Pieces:
- Chewbacca Costume (I got a larger costume, so I could use extra material to make ears)
- Viking Horns

Toby
Costume Pieces:
Trunk-or-Treat Decor, Room of Stairs
Backdrop Decor:
- Brown Tablecloth
- Stairs made of cardboard or cardstock, taped to the ceiling/wall/floor
